“…but who can make a tree?” encourages the listener to question authorship as they themselves interact and create the work. Their pace, path, and point of entry define the layout of the work. As they move through the space, various sounds created by various processes unfold. Are they the work of a composer? A computer? Or maybe they are created by the listener being in the space.
