Dog Dream

Dog Dream is an audacious experiment in sound, myth, and geography—its very name taken from the Korean idiom for a meaningless or foolish fantasy, “that’s just a dog dream.” What begins as nonsense—eight full-length albums, 96 songs, unfolding like a map of the elements—becomes a living cartography of existence itself. Each record is a “sphere”: Star, Sand, Sky, Stone, Sea, Snow, Space, and Soul—together forming a cyclical symphony that charts energy, time, breath, matter, water, void, and spirit. Rather than simply being released on streaming platforms, the music is scattered across the landscape through Sonomaps, a free GPS-driven audio app that unlocks songs only when the listener moves through the world. Hikers, runners, and wanderers will encounter tracks as they step into real environments—forests, rivers, ruins, coastlines—creating a mosaic of music inseparable from the land and sky around them. In this way, Dog Dream transforms the “fool’s dream” into a tangible, embodied listening experience: a planetary song cycle stitched into trails and horizons, where sound, place, and imagination converge.
