About this project
A locative composition inspired by the poem "Elegy to the Memory of an Unfortunate Lady" by Alexander Pope, and an urban legend about a ghost named Lady Alice who who is said to have been sighted in the Orangery and park. This piece also explores the history and features of Manchester's largest park.

The Temple

The Temple is the highest and most significant viewing platform in Manchester, with spectacular elevated views of the city and surrounding areas. It was designed in 1800 and we believe it was first used as an observatory by Sir Thomas Egerton, the first Earl of Wilton.
